This is a free article marketing course. For years, promoting my websites was accomplished by pay-per-click ads, banner ads, and off line marketing strategies. I did not want to get involved with article marketing because I did not want to spend time writing articles to give away for free. I felt that if I spent time to write the articles, I should use them on my own websites instead of giving them away for free. I also wanted control over my articles, and felt that keeping them would give me this control on my own websites.

I later got involved in search engine optimization tactics and discovered the benefits of posting and giving away uniquely written articles.

If you want your website to rank high in the search engines and generate free web site traffic, you will need to get involved with article marketing. This free and short article marketing course was designed to help you get started with article marketing. Article marketing is very powerful and can really help your online business.  

What is Article Marketing

Article marketing is the technique of writing and sharing articles to tell the online world about your online business or website. Articles are written to attack potential customers to your website by using website links in the resource box at the bottom of your articles. These articles are written to get the readers interested in what you have to say, and ultimately inspire them to want more information by clinking your website’s link at the bottom of the article. 

Article marketing is also a form of viral marketing because the articles are posted on article directory sites, and then given away to readers that wish to post the same articles of their own websites.

Why is Article Marketing Important

Article marketing is important because it helps you promote your online business. It basically tells the online world about your online business or website. It also helps build name recognition for the author writing the articles.

When your articles are posted on article directory sites your articles are read by readers wanting information on a pacific topic. If the reader enjoys the article, they will visit your website, or post the same article on their website. Either way, your article will drive totally free website traffic to your website. This technique also builds a large list of incoming links to your website, giving you a lot of free web traffic. This technique also helps with search engine site ranking because the more incoming links you have, the higher your site will rank providing your website is optimized properly for the search engines.

You should never look at article marketing as additional or hard work. Article marketing is work completed once, but the benefits can remain for a lifetime. Do the work once, and benefit from this work forever. That is what makes article marketing powerful; it continues to drive free website traffic to your website once the article is posted on article directory sites.

How to Write Articles

Your articles need to include a powerful title, a body, and a resource box. The title needs to be eye catching, something that will stand out and draw the attention of the readers. The body needs to be informative with only five hundred to seven hundred words. The resource box needs to be about the writer and how the writer can help them on a pacific topic. The resource box also needs to include a link where the reader can receive additional information.

Articles are written to attract the attention of the reader, not to tell the reader everything there is to know about a pacific topic. If the article explains everything there is to know on the topic, the reader will not need more information. It is very important to write your articles in a method that the reader will want more information. This additional information is obtained by clicking your link, which will be included in the resource box at the bottom of the article.

The most important part to article writing is to use unique and key word rich articles. Do not use PLR article to drive website traffic to your website, you’ll be wasting your time using PLR articles for this task. Your articles must be unique and written by you. Some article marketers pay for this service, but I do not recommend this because you can never be sure your article is unique unless you write it! Spend the time to write your own articles, this will pay off for a life time.

I want to give you a couple of examples of how article marketers accomplish their article marketing strategy. First you will need a website, which you probably already have or you would not get involved with article marketing.

First marketer; write a unique article and post it on your own website first. Rewrite half of the article and post it on all article directory websites.

Second marketer; write a unique article and post it on your website first. Rewrite the article using an article spinner tool, and then post all of the spun articles on all article directory websites.

The way I use article marketing; First, I write an article and post it on my website. I will take this same article and completely rewrite it and then post it on ezine articles.com. Ezine articles will make sure your article is unique; therefore, make sure your article is unique when posting an article on this site. After this article is active, I will begin spinning this article as many times as necessary and post the spun articles on the other article directories. I have discovered that this technique works the best when submitting articles to your directories.     

SEO and Article Marketing

SEO or search engine optimization is very important. When writing your articles you should keep SEO in mind. Writing articles will help your SEO rankings providing your website is optimized correctly and if you make sure your articles are unique before posting them on article directory sites. If you do not write unique articles, you website ranking can go down. That’s why it is important to understand how search engine optimization works before getting involved with article marketing.

Your search engine rank will be affected by not writing unique articles. This is crucial to your marketing efforts. You must provide unique articles to be successful with SEO during your article marketing efforts. If you do not care about SEO and just want free website traffic from your articles you can accomplish this, but the results will not be as good as using SEO techniques. Keep in mind that seventy percent of all web traffic comes from the search engines. If you are not implementing SEO with your articles, you are wasting a lot of potential web traffic. I feel that you must use SEO when using the technique of article marketing.
